This Year It’s All About Performance
I mentioned on my Instagram some days ago that one of my main goals for this year is to invest more into my health and fitness. I’ve always been very active, and since I started working out seriously in 2016, I haven’t stopped for longer than a week or two. But for the last couple of years, my businesses have been the priority, and that means I have dedicated less time and energy to my fitness and health than I should. This year, that will change.
I’m not the biggest supplement consumer, but every once in a while, I come across one that I really like and it becomes a staple in my nutrition stack. The latest addition to said stack is Black Ginger, produced by, in my opinion, the best supplement company around these days, Based Supps. I’ve been a fan of Based Supps for over a year, and have had the opportunity to try most of their supplements and meet Erik, the founder. So anytime they release something new, I’m eager to try it, as I know from experience that their supplements actually work as promised.
So, when I saw they had released a Black Ginger supplement, and given my determination to work on my health and vitality this year, I got myself a box to try it out.
What Is Black Ginger?
Black Ginger is a Thai herb, sourced in the Lampang province, that has been around for a while, but only recently started gaining popularity as a supplement, used mainly for its energizing and endurance-enhancing properties, and because it seems to promote vitality and peak performance1.
It has shown to have a range of benefits specifically for men, particularly concerning physical performance, hormone regulation, cognitive function, and metabolic health. Black Ginger contains multiple active compounds, primarily polymethoxyflavones, which are responsible for its unique effects.2
Some Benefits of Black Ginger
Black Ginger has a wide range of benefits, particularly for men. Beyond the studies that show it’s effectiveness, I can vouch for these in my personal life too:
Enhancement of Physical Performance and Endurance:3 By improving vasodilation and blood flow due to increased nitric oxide production, which enhances oxygen delivery to muscles, thereby reducing fatigue.
Testosterone Boosting and Sexual Health:4 Black Ginger contains polymethoxyflavones. These compounds inhibit the aromatase enzyme, which converts testosterone to estrogen, leading to a potential increase in free testosterone levels.
Cognitive Enhancement and Neuroprotection: These polymethoxyflavones also possess neuroprotective properties, primarily through their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities
Metabolic Health and Weight Management
Anti-Inflammatory and Antioxidant Effects
Improved Circulation and Cardiovascular Health: Black Ginger increases nitric oxide production, a key molecule that promotes vasodilation, thereby improving blood circulation. Enhanced blood flow not only supports cardiovascular health but also aids in delivering nutrients and oxygen to tissues, optimizing physical performance.

My Opinion About Black Ginger
I think there’s a lot of noise out there in the health space, and there’s tons of different supplements that brands and influencers promote that don’t measure up to the promises they make. I think Black Ginger falls under the category of supplements that actually do help you and work as advertised.
Beyond opinions, the studies prove this, and the track record of Based Supps is of producing only the highest quality, cleanest, most potent versions of lesser known supplements for men’s health and vitality. I think it’s definitely worth a try if you’re making your health, fitness, and performance a priority this year.
Once again, Based Supps did not disappoint. I’m not really a big supplement buyer, but I tend to make an exception with this brand, because with their products I actually do notice a difference (which isn’t the case with most supplements).
If you are looking to improve your overall physical performance, vitality, and health, I can’t recommend Black Ginger enough. They were kind enough to give me a discount for all of you, so if you decide to try it out, use the code SIMPLEMEN at checkout to get 10% off!
