The Power of The Rosary
I've been praying the Rosary every day for a month. Here's how it's helped me.
This Lent, my main spiritual intention was to devote more time to prayer. Interestingly enough, finding time for silence and contemplation is one of the disciplines of our faith that I find particularly difficult.
For me, it helps to have a structured approach to prayer, which praying the Rosary provides. One of my goals for this Lent was to pray the Rosary every single day. I’m happy to say that I have done it very consistently so far, only missing one day altogether since Ash Wednesday.
A Quick Explanation
Contrary to a widespread protestant belief, us Catholics do not worship Mary. When we pray to her, we are asking for her intercession, similarly to how we ask other people to pray for us. We believe that Mary is in Heaven, and that her intercession is especially powerful, due to her being the Mother of God. Praying the Rosary is not idolatry, nor an act of worship. It’s an act of meditative prayer in which we honor and ask Mary to pray for us.
The Rosary consists of a string of beads, typically 53 Hail Marys, 6 Our Fathers, and a series of meditations on the Mysteries, which are grouped into four categories: Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious, and Luminous. Each set of Mysteries corresponds to significant events in the lives of Jesus and Mary, allowing us to reflect on these moments while praying.
My Experience
As I mentioned earlier, setting time aside for prayer is not something that comes easily to me. But making the Rosary a daily practice has helped me massively.
For starters, allowing time for solitude and meditation helps me, on a practical level, in being more present, more peaceful, and more aware of the blessings in my life. I’m sitting down every morning for 15 minutes to pray, and what’s wonderful about praying the Rosary is that it helps you meditate on different mysteries of the life of Jesus and Mary, to develop a closer relationship with God. Every mystery that you meditate on you can offer for a specific intention that you have, which has also helped me: by making a daily practice of surrendering my problems, struggles, and concerns to God, I feel better equipped to face them and to stay spiritually strong in the face of these challenges.
How to Pray The Rosary
The Rosary Is A Spiritual Weapon
Many Catholics view the Rosary as a powerful weapon against spiritual challenges and temptations. The prayers and meditations can help us resist sin and grow in virtue, providing strength in the face of adversity. I can tell you from experience that this is definitely the case.
The Rosary serves not only as a means of prayer but as a spiritual weapon that empowers us in the ongoing battle against evil.
If you have never devoted time to praying the Rosary consistently, now, during Lent, is a great moment to start. If you don’t have a Rosary or would simply like to to get one of the most beautiful Rosaries out there, I highly recommend you check out Theotokos, my favorite Catholic Brand, which makes stunning, handcrafted Rosaries.
Theotokos Rosaries

I found Theotokos after Mike Pantile converted to Catholicism and shared a video showing his own rosary. It was a beautiful piece, and since at that time I was only just starting to come back to the Catholic faith, I started following them.
I got the St. Peter’s Rosary, which I find to be particularly impressive. There’s something to be said about the importance of beauty in motivating us to pursue virtue and the higher ideals of our faith: beautiful things help us meditate on eternity.
I also had the opportunity to chat a bit with the owners of the brand, and they were incredibly helpful and kind. This is a business that I’m happy to support and promote, not only because they are doing an amazing job at promoting our faith but also because the quality of their products is amazing, and their customer service is excellent.
If you were looking to buy your first Rosary or simply looking to invest a bit into getting one that is absolutely beautiful, and support a solid, Catholic-owned business in the process, I highly recommend you check out Theotokos Rosaries!

Those who sail the ocean seas are guided to the port they seek by carefully observing the stars.
In the same way, Christians are guided to heavenly glory by keeping their eyes on Mary.”
