August Product of The Month: FountainHead Shampoo

Pricing: $38 for one bottle. Lasts about 8-10 weeks depending on frequency of use.
A few months ago, I came across this viral Tweet:
For some context, although I still have a pretty strong hairline, I’ve noticed some hair loss over the last couple of years, and I had been actively looking for holistic protocols and natural solutions to stop my hairline from receding and even grow some of it back if possible. One of the first things I learnt was how toxic most commercial shampoos are —which I was still using at the time. Sadly, I hadn’t found any solid natural alternatives, until I came across the aforementioned thread. Most of the advice that Michael gives in it I had already heard, so what really caught my eye was his recommendation for a natural shampoo: FountainHead.
I ordered a bottle of FountainHead shampoo almost immediately after reading that tweet, to use it myself, and as a gift for my mom, who has lately been a bit worried about her overall hair health too.
And we’ve been absolutely loving it.
What Does FountainHead Shampoo Contain?
What really convinced me to order the shampoo —aside from the excellent customer service I’ve had from the brand— was its ingredients list:
Reverse Osmosis Water: Purified to remove organic material and chemical contaminants.
Raw Honey: Sourced locally from Utah. Excellent moisturizer and hair nourisher1. Can also help fight dandruff2.
Maca Root: Rich in nutrients, helps strengthen the hair follicle and encourage hair growth.
Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate: Gentle, sulfate free cleanser derived from coconut.
Cocamidopropyl Betaine: Another mild coconut-derived cleanser, also acts as conditioner.
Pro-Vitamin B5: Conditioning humectant that decreases frizz.
Organic Chamomille extract: Soothes sensitive skin and provides a fresh scent.
Organic Calendula extract: Hydrates and also provides a nice natural scent.
Organic Rosemary essential oil: Probably the most well-known ingredient for promoting hair growth and natural scalp health3. Also helps with dandruff and serves as antioxidant4.
Xanthan gum: A natural byproduct of fermentation, helps thicken and stabilize formulas.
Preservative Eco: A broad spectrum natural preservative certified by COSMOS and ECOCERT. Composed of salicylic acid, sorbic acid, benzyl alcohol, and glycerine. Preservatives are necessary in such natural water-based products to protect from the growth of mold or pathogenic microorganisms. Comprises <1% of the product.
That’s it. No harmful chemicals, just the perfect balance of natural ingredientes to make the product effective and healthy. It’s even bottled in glass to avoid those annoying microplastics we already consume too much of.
Our Experience With FountainHead Shampoo
My mom and I have both been absolutely loving it. I use it twice per week and I can notice a clear difference from commercial shampoos that leave your hair dry and “frizzy”. You can literally feel your hair getting healthier when you stop soaking it in hundreds of chemicals every week.
Some other specific benefits I’ve noticed:
Softer hair after use.
Nice natural fresh smell.
Hair looks thicker and fuller.
Less hairs on my hands when washing with this shampoo vs. commercial alternatives.
Affordable, fast shipping, and excellent customer service.
It’s a locally owned company with only two employees (the two owners, who do all of the customer service, make all the products, and package + ship them by hand). I always prefer to support such brands.
I highly recommend you go to FountainHead’s website and take a look at other reviews and transformations, it’s crazy how possible it is to recover your lost hairline by switching to a properly healthy shampoo alternative.
I’ve also had the pleasure of talking with FountainHead’s team and they have been incredibly helpful and I can vouch for their customer service and integrity.
You can read more about the shampoo in FountainHead’s website, and read over 100 positive reviews of the product.
It’s 100% possible to stop —and even reverse— hair loss, but you need to start by using the right shampoo.
Try it out yourself and let me know what you think!
Also, remember to recommend some brands that you like for the “Product of the month” section as I’m always looking for good products to recommend on here.
