I appreciate your willingness to incorporate Protestant views into your piece. Lewis appreciated the Catholic tradition a great deal…as do I. Many blessings to you and your work.
I feel you brother. Something that has helped me during tough times is remembering that God is so great that He can make something good come out of something as terrible as sin. Fight sin with humility and repentance. Sometimes we fall so we can remember to depend more and more on God, instead of on our own strength.
Shame has had me in its grips so many times over the years. From my earliest memories. I am going to begin substituting the 'Deceiver, Satan, Accuser, Devil' in my head when I think of shame.
I'm on the last day of a 10 day 'smashing greens' fast/cleanse/challenge. Less than 150 calories a day, it has been rough.
This experience is the greatest mirror of my own behaviors, thoughts, habits, attitudes, tendencies - much of which is pretty gross.
One thing I tried, which is similar to how I want to reframe shame from this post, was to recognize that hunger, by definition, is scarcity mentality. (Obviously I'm also STARVING!) But allowing my mind to wallow in the feelings of hunger, the fantasizing of food, the obsession--that is what I mean. So, over these past 10 days, when I recognize that I'm in a hunger pang, I immediately begin to do gratitude lists. My thinking is to turn the scarcity mentality into an abundance mentality--reminds myself of my blessings.
It actually has worked out pretty well when I am mindful enough to do it.
Excellent approach, and congrats on finishing such a tough fast brother. I love the mental reframing towards gratitude, I'll 100% use that next time I'm fasting and start to wallow in the feelings of hunger. Thank you for reading the article and glad you liked it! God bless you
Condemning after a fall is his 😈 favorite thing to do! And he comes at true believers harder than those who don't care/believe. Fight Satan with the Word! ⬇️
"For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief." - Proverbs 24:16 KJV
"There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit." - Romans 8:1 KJV
"For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more." - Hebrews 8:12 KJV
This brought tears to my eyes. Lately all I've been here is "there is no point" but truly if I am alive, then God still has a plan for me
Don’t let the devil win brother. God is with you always!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”
— Jeremiah 29:11
Keep walking 🙏🏼✝️
Love me God forgive me for my errors and sins…. Love Lord my love ones!!
God bless you brother! Keep walking in faith.

Appreciate that, brother! I'm a big fan of Lewis. Thank you for reading and God bless you
I need these reflections because, lately, I'm struggling with despair. I really want to do God's will in my life, but I'm falling again and again.

You have captured it perfectly. There’s a reason for calling Satan the father of all lies.
100%. Glad you liked the article brother and hope it helps. God bless you!

Jesus fought the devil with Scripture, as should we!
Spot on brother. God bless you!
